Betsson appoints strategy chief

Online gambling group Betsson AB has announced the appointment of Peter Zäll to the new position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Zäll was previously employed as group vice president for product and marketing at Sweden’s state-owned gambling group Svenska Spel, and he will initially concentrate on developing Betsson’s strategy for the forthcoming liberalisation of the Swedish regulated online gambling market scheduled for early 2019.

Zäll joins the executive team next month and will be based at Betsson’s headquarters in Malta.

Announcing the appointment, Betsson CEO Jesper Svensson commented:

“I am delighted that Peter has decided to be part of the Betsson team as Chief Strategy Officer, his experience and personality fit the team perfectly. Also, as Betsson Group is gearing up for the opening of the Swedish gambling market there should be no better person to develop our position in the Swedish market.”
