Kaaren Hilsen, who was appointed chief financial officer at online gambling group Betsson last October, is moving up and out, returning to Swedish telecoms firm Telenor, where she worked prior to her current position at Betsson.
Hilsen has been tapped for the CEO position at Telenor, and has agreed a notice period of six months during which the gambling group will seek a new CEO.
Prior to joining Betsson in October 2017 Hilsen was CFO at Telenor; she has wide senior management experience with the Telenor group in Europe.
Pontus Lindwall, CEO at Betsson, said in a statement Wednesday:
“I would like to thank Kaaren for her contribution in getting Betsson back on track. I respect that she has received an offer she couldn’t refuse and wish her all the best for the future. Betsson is a stronger company than it was a year ago and I am sure that we will soon recruit a new CFO who wants to be part of taking Betsson to the next level.”
