Swedishonline gambling group Betsson advised this week that it has made Jesper Svensson’s interim appointment as CEO Malta operations announced last September a permanent position.
Svensson joined the company in 2013 and has subsequently held roles as managing director of Betsson.com and, most recently, chief commercial officer. His role will now see him look at ways to better leverage Betsson’s multi-brand model (made up of 20 brands, including Betsafe and NordicBet) and single platform.
The Betsson group delivered an 11 percent growth in revenue in Q3 2017, although chief executive Pontus Lindwall acknowledged he was “not satisfied” despite the company posting record revenue and profit figures.
Betsson is currently headquartered in Malta, and boasts a headcount of 1,900 people in 12 locations, with plans in train to increase office space in Malta, where over a thousand of its employees now work.
