Latest figures for November 2015 released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board Wednesday show that casino win was up 7.8 percent year-on-year.
Nevada casinos kept $944.3 million of gamblers’ wagers in November thanks to slot machines, the calendar and a record month for sports betting, the regulator advised.
NGCB analyst Mike Lawton told Associated Press that slot action was particularly rewarding for the casinos, bringing in $596.4 million – a 13.3 percent improvement on the same period in 2014.
Punters deposited a total of $8.5 billion across the gambling state in November, with Lawton noting that sports betting achieved new heights with $557 million wagered – beating a new record set last year by $21 million. Operators scored with a 7.7 percent margin delivering casino win of $42.8 million – mainly on football bets.
High stakes baccarat continued to decline, delivering $109.9 million, down 14.3 percent on the same period last year, but an improvement on the previous month.
Poker generated $9 million – down 3.9 percent y-o-y.
Earlier, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority revealed that thus far in 2015, 42 million visitors have flocked to the gambling city – already more than a million ahead of 2014 and with more expected before the 2015 books are closed.
