Playtech BGT Sports (PBS), an omni-channel sports betting technology subsidiary, has finalised its senior management team following the acquisition of BGT by Playtech last year (see previous reports).
Heading up the team as chief executive will be Dr. Armin Sageder, who led BGT to a market-leading position in retail sports betting technology after founding the supplier in 2005.
John Pettit will act as the managing director for the UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia, covering retail and digital operations in these territories.
Dietmar Wiesinger will operate in a similar managing director role for the rest of the world.
Since the acquisition was completed last July, PBS has continued to thrive, with new agreements signed with OPAP and Sportium, as well as contract extensions with a number of established clients.
In a statement Thursday Sageder said: “Combining our expertise in retail betting operations with the extensive knowhow at Playtech provides the ultimate platform to create innovative, premium products for our clients and their customers. John and Dietmar offer a wealth of experience in the industry and we are tapping into this as we continue to invest in our products.”
