The growing popularity of virtual currency Bitcoin has persuaded Nevada-based Robocoin and Vancouver company Bitcoiniacs to invest in the introduction of five ATMs situated in Canada at locations to be advised.
The first machine went online recently in Vancouver.
Bitcoin is finding growing acceptance among online gambling operators, and the ATMs look set to deliver another level of financial convenience to punters, enabling them to exchange Bitcoins for Canadian dollars and vice versa through the VirtEx exchange.
Users will have to undergo a palm scan, and a limit of Cdn$3,000 a day has been imposed on all transactions, which remain anonymous.
Bitcoin to dollar exchange rates are currently around $200 per Bitcoin.
