Bitcoin gambling firm SatoshiBet has exited the U.S. market as a preemptive measure based on the uncertain future of online gambling regulation and the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.
SatoshiBet informed customers it will no longer accept business from US-based IP addresses with immediate effect.
“Since SatoshiBet launched its casino in early 2013, Bitcoin gained an exponential amount of mainstream attention, [from] both users [and] lawmakers,” a SatoshiBet statement said. “As a consequence we have decided, effective immediately, to close SatoshiBet.com to US players. All US-based IP’s are from this moment onwards unable to access the website and any of its services.”
