BLUEBAT TO HELP ONLINE CASINOS PENETRATE SOCIAL GAMING

Canadian software developer has a new box of social gaming tricks

The move into social gambling by online casino operators has persuaded a Vancouver, Canada software firm that its future lies in assisting casinos to penetrate that sector.

10-employee start-up BlueBat unveiled its core product this week – the BlueBox social gamification engine, which it claims will aid operators to join the trend toward real-money social gaming by adding social features to online gambling games.

BlueBat’s business model is focused on business-to-business services through the provision of the BlueBox turnkey system that includes services for social gamification, virtual economy, credit authorisation and dynamic analytics.

On the development side, it provides developers with a vehicle through which they can publish games to a variety of platforms and social networks, including Google+, Facebook, and BlueBox’s own GoPlay social network platform.

Founded by two EA video game veterans, Kenny Huang and Tim Harris, BlueBat already has a game up on Facebook titled Lucky’s Bank Penny Slots, providing operational proof of the efficacy of the BlueBox engine. The company has already received $600,000 in funding from angel investors.

Analyst firm Morgan Stanley has predicted that social gambling games will become a $7 billion market in the next two years. With 173 million players a month, the social casino game market is already massive, and can be expected to grow further.
