$280 million acquisition of Valley Forge Casino offers gambling group the opportunity to launch online gambling in Pennsylvania.
At a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board hearing on the acquisition of Valley Forge Casino by the Boyd Gaming group this week, online gambling possibilities were reportedly discussed at several points.
Boyd executives, led by CEO Keith Smith, said one of the reasons for the $280 million Valley Forge acquisition project was to offer online gambling in Pennsylvania as part of the licence.
Smith emphasised that online gambling and Pennsylvanian opportunities was important to Boyd Gaming, and he gave positive accounts of his company’s online gambling experiences in New Jersey, where Boyd at one point successfully operated the Borgata online operation for three years before selling its 50 percent interest in the project.
