Undeterred by the failure of its bid to acquire betting shops dropped as a result of the Ladbrokes Coral merger, Irish bookie remains determined to open more UK shops this year.
Irish media reports are that Boylesports, undeterred by a failure to secure UK betting shops dropped as a result of the Ladbrokes Coral merger (see previous reports) remains determined to expand its UK retail operations, and is planning on opening up to 25 additional outlets before the end of this year.
The reports quoted Boylesports CFO Mark O’Neil who on an Irish radio talk show outlined the company’s ambitions
“We are looking for the right opportunities that will offer us scale, not just taking over two or three stores, but looking at cities and areas that will allow us to build a network and brand presence with a minimum of twenty to twenty-five stores,” O’Neil reportedly said.
