Dublin-based social betting start-up BragBet has partnered with Irish independent bookmaker Boylesports.
BragBet’s social betting platform, which previously offered only virtual bets between groups of friends will now offer real-money sports bets in partnership with BoyleSports.
The BragBet concept involves team registration and a cash deposit into a joint pot. The team then share their suggested bets each day and comment on their friends suggestions. Each week a member of the team takes a turn as captain and decides how the pot is used and which bets to place.
Under the terms of the partnership, all odds offered and bets placed within the BragBet site will be managed and handled by BoyleSports.
Keith O’Loughlin, chief executive officer of Boylesports Online commented on the potential of BragBet’s vision saying the social network sector was potentially a tremendous growth area for the Company.
“Working together with BragBet we’re introducing a new kind of fun, interactive betting that will particularly appeal to the younger, digital native market who have grown up with social networking and expect a more entertaining experience,” O’Loughlin told Silicon Republic.
