The Bulgarian State Commission on Gambling has announced that major Gibraltar-based online gambling companies 32Red and Stan James are among the latest additions to its blacklist of operators accessing the Bulgarian market without a local licence.
The latest round of domains added to the list brings its total content to 313 websites.
Up until last December the Bulgarian licensing and regulation regime attracted little operator interest due to the prohibitive costs attached to it, which included a 15 percent tax on turnover.
However this year the political establishment appeared to see the light and instead demanded a far more palatable 20 percent tax on gross profits, which has seen more operators making application.
In related news, the Latvian Lotteries and Gambling Supervision Inspection (IAUI) has updated its blacklist for the umpteenth time, adding to the entries for 24hbet.com, Igame.com, Redluck.com, Titanbet.com and Twist Casino domains which took place just a fortnight back (see previous report).
The latest 11 domains to join the Latvian naughty list include Playbet.com, Allbritishcasino.com and Freespincasino.com.
