The Ontario terrestrial casino brand Casino Rama Resort had the embarrassment of contacting its players this week after becoming aware on November 4 of a major hack that could impact customers, vendors and current and former staff.
All were contacted and warned to change passwords and carefully monitor their bank accounts, credit cards and other financial information after the casino discovered that credit inquiries and collection and debt information were stolen, along with vendor and employees’ information, including payroll data, social insurance numbers and dates of birth.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission says the attack was site-specific, so customers who visited other casinos have no need for concern.
