The long-running proposal in bill C290 pressing for changes to Canadian sports betting sailed through the House of Commons over a year ago but remains stubbornly bogged down in the Senate by upper house procrastination and long-winded opposition.
Fearing that the continued delays may eventually kill off the single-game sports betting bill by the time the Senate recesses on June 28, the Canadian Gaming Association has launched an online website-based information campaign at www.C290now.ca.
The site provides factual information, contrasting it with some of the misinformation that has been floated by opponents of the proposal, and provides Canucks with links to register their views with the Canadian political establishment.
