The Scandinavian operators of online adventure casino Casumo have launched in the UK market after a successful integration of pound sterling into the platform.
Casumo offers players the opportunity to win prizes and trophies by collecting in-game points that unlock new levels and planets to explore in their personalised casino, and the UK launch follows successful roll-outs across the Nordic region since 2012.
The company claims that it has more than doubled its active player base in Scandinavia in the past 12 months and its game-within-a-game format has resulted in industry-best player value figures.
The UK launch has been accompanied by a PR tongue-in-cheek spin on boredom in British cities, linking that with Casumo as a way in which to alleviate the malady.
The casino commissioned a Censuswide survey which it claims lists UK cities by the number of ‘player boredom’ days, with the results ranging from a Nottingham low of 15 days a year to a high in Bristol of 23 days a year, and an average per city of 18 days annually.
The research purports to show that Brits are more likely to reach for their mobile phones to fight boredom than read a book, go to the gym or even talk to their partner. Brits aged 16-24 are shown to be the most restless, losing nearly a month to boredom each year (27 days).
Casumo marketing chief John Harmander said in a statement: “Many people’s first instinct when bored is to play a game on their phone, tablet or desktop and we look forward to many thousands of Brits using Casumo’s casino adventure as the perfect antidote.”
