Gambling industry veteran and founder of the respected BetVictor group, Victor Chandler (67) is planning to expand his African betting business BetLion into the Kenyan market, reports the Kenyan newspaper The Star.
Chandler sold BetVictor to a private equity group in 2014 (see previous reports) and has since been working on online betting project BetLion with FSBTech in Uganda.
Kenya and Tanzania are currently targets for the project’s further expansion, which will be aided by FSBTech’s local market experience through its BetYetu in Kenya and MkekaBet operations in Tanzania
BetLion will face an abundance of competition in the Kenya market, where around 36 licensed operators are currently active.
