Chinese government warns of further crackdown on online lotteries

The Reuters news agency reported Tuesday that the Chinese Finance Ministry has warned that it intends to step up the crackdown on companies or individuals illegally selling lotteries online, emphasising that China resolutely bans such activity.

The finance ministry has not approved any internet lottery sales business, according to a statement jointly issued by several government entities including the Ministry of Public Security and the People’s Bank of China.
