Colombian professional football wants a cut of regulator’s online betting revenues

Local media reports from Colombia suggest that the nation’s professional football governing body División Mayor del Fútbol Profesional Colombiano (Dimayor) has taken a leaf out of the NFL’s playbook in attempting to horn in on the regulator revenues generated by online gambling.
Dimayor has apparently sued Colombian regulator Coljeugos, complaining that it has issued online gambling licenses with giving the leagues a slice of the fees.
The filing argues that online betting licensees are using team names and trademarks without compensating the sport, and note that former president Jorge Perdomo had previously tried to negotiate a revenue sharing scheme with Coljuegos (presumably unsuccessfully).
The relationship between Coljuegos and Dimayor is not entirely hostile – the two organisations work together with the operator trade association Asojuegos to protect match integrity through ensuring transparency in online sports betting.
