Online gambling hosting and managed services provider Continent 8 has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Dublin data centres.
The certification provides Continent 8 with ISO certification for the provision of colocation and managed services, and was sought as a direct response to customers’ needs in an evolving and maturing business sector.
ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard in information security management. This requires a systematic approach to managing an organisation’s information security risks and demonstrates the security controls and management processes in place.
Continent 8 chief technical officer John Stone explained Friday: “By achieving the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Continent 8 has demonstrated its commitment to Information Security Management, further strengthening our credentials as a managed hosting provider in a competitive sector.”
Michelle Orr, head of quality and compliance for Continent 8 revealed that during the coming year an independent body for certification will assess Continent 8’s facilities in Malta and Montreal as well.
