eGaming co-location and managed hosting services provider Continent 8 Technologies continues to expand its global data centre footprint and services with new locations and new hires.
In addition to the acquisition of Vault 247 in Gibraltar, the company opened a new data centre in Dublin and a point-of-presence in Milan, further expanding the flexibility and reliability for operators targeting the European market.
As well as the Company’s visible growth in Europe, Continent 8 has doubled its network capacity in Asia and sites in North America are currently being evaluated to go live within the next 12 months, a company spokesperson revealed.
To support this growth, the company has appointed Eddie Kilbane as Facilities Director covering all Continent 8 data centre locations. Kilbane has over 30 years experience in the Building and Civil Engineering Industry, with the last 19 specifically in Telecommunication Networks and Data Centre Construction. He has been involved in Data Centre developments in the UK, Ireland, USA, Bulgaria and Malta and is at the front of the development of the next breed of data centres.
In sales, Continent 8 welcomed David Stickland as their newest Account Director. He takes on a new role to develop business opportunities within eBusiness sectors outside of eGaming. David brings over 25 years senior management experience within the IT and telecommunications industry.
“I am delighted to have joined such a progressive and forward thinking company. What’s key in developing new markets is a proven track record, Continent 8 has a huge amount of experience within the demanding eGaming space both in terms of actual companies hosting, and the level of staffing expertise, all of which are transferrable to other sectors,” Stickland commented.
