Liberal Democrat politician Danny Alexander’s complaint about invasive gambling advertising and a slow review of the issue earlier today (see previous report) has met with a quick response from the British government’s Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS).
A DCMS statement advises:”The Government is completely committed to ensuring that player protection is at the heart of gambling policy and we will publish the government response to the review of gambling advertising shortly.”
The Department did not comment on an alleged comment from a government source that the Department is resistant to change on its gambling advertising policy.
Noting the response, Alexander restated Liberal Democrat calls for a change in the laws.
