According to Associated Press, Czech political rivals Finance Minister Andrej Babis and his predecessor Miroslav Kalousek raised the ante in a Parliamentary committee debate on the 2016 budget with a bet of $421 000.
Babis alleges that Kalousek faced a Police investigation in 2008 over a decision he made to allow internet betting. An allegation Kalousek denies.
On Kalousek’s initiative, the two have put their money where their mouths are even going so far as to announce the wager on Czech public television.
