Online betting group Dafabet has extended its sponsorship of the EPL Sunderland football club in a new agreement that takes the partnership through to 2019.
The company will play an active role in club promotions to its fans such as the Ha’way the Flags initiative, where it will donate a giant crowd-surfer flag showing a current Black Cats player, with fans voting online for the player they would most like to feature in the design.
With Dafabet support, Sunderland has launched a Chinese website in its drive to increase brand awareness in Asia, whilst the betting firm has enjoyed increased exposure on the EPL-Sunderland international platform.
Sunderland FC commercial director Gary Hutchinson said in statement announcing the new deal Tuesday that Dafabet is an important bookmaker in the football and sport sectors, and has an impressive knowledge of the football sector.
“We are delighted to align ourselves with them in the longer term, giving us increased opportunities to grow and develop our relationship in the coming years,” he said.
John Cruces, head of sports marketing and sponsorship at Dafabet, said: “We have had a busy summer in that we have announced a number of new deals across football and sport in general. However, extending our relationship with Sunderland was important to us for the brand presence the club has already helped us achieve, and will no doubt continue to do so.”
