Operators who wish to apply for an online gaming licence to offer their services in the newly liberalised Danish online gambling market have only four weeks to submit applications to the Danish Gaming Authority according to a statement on its website.
The Authority is now open for online betting and online casino applications with licences taking effect from January 1, 2012, however, the Authority has provided little time to apply with the deadline dated October 17, 2011.
The Danish Gaming Authority has reiterated that licences will be issued as a temporary permit for a duration of only one year due to time constraints in its ability to conduct a full investigation into each operator’s compliance with Danish conditions.
Once a full study on the operator has been undertaken by the Authority regarding compliance and conditions being met, the operator will then be eligible for a conversion of its one-year temporary licence to a more permanent five-year licence. No additional application fee’s would be payable during the conversion process.
