Denmark’s state gambling group Danske Spil has acquired a 60 percent stake in fantasy games company Swush.com for an undisclosed consideration following that country’s introduction of Fantasy Sports licensing.
The Copenhagen-based company, founded in late 2000, is owned and run by Jesper Carstensen and Ole Christensen and has had a long-running relationship with Danske Spil.
Swush games is active in many Nordic countries and is considered to be the market leader in Scandinavia.
“We have for many years worked closely with Danske Spil. There are many synergies and strong growth potential. With Danske Spil we will have a strong partner to strengthen our business and achieve our goals,” commented Christensen.
Interestingly, the company claims 60 percent of its active client base fall in the 18-34 year-old demographic.
