The India Times reports that Delta Corporation has completed the acquisition of online poker business Adda52’s parent group Gaussian Network following an agreement late last year (see previous reports)
The newspaper notes that Gaussian was founded by Anuj Gupta and is widely respected as India’s biggest online gaming start-up, specialising in rummy, poker, chess, scrabble, golf and pool. In fiscal 2016, it posted 30 percent growth in revenue.
With the completion of the deal, Gaussian Networks has become a 100 percent subsidiary of Delta, which owns Deltin casinos in Goa and Daman. Plans for Adda52 include expanding the platform and the introduction of live streaming, along with offline activity.
A recent Google-KPMG study predicts that the Indian online gambling industry is likely to grow to $1 billion by 2021 from the current $360 million, with the number of online gamers reaching 310 million.
