Derby Games, a New York-based online pari-mutuel horse racing game developer, has clinched a deal with Canadian horse racing operator Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG).
The multi-year partnership will see Derby Games’ content expand into Canada for the first time with the development of online horse racing games that feature WEG’s thoroughbred and standardbred live cards.
“We’re thrilled to be taking our games to the Canadian market, where online wagering on horse racing has a unique position,” said Tom Hessert, chief executive officer and co-founder of Derby Games.
“The interest in expanding horse racing online is global and our entry into Canada provides a launching pad for continued expansion into new markets.”
Derby Games is expected to launch in Ontario in the fourth quarter of this year, operating through WEG’s Canadian licensing and approvals.
