The New Jersey Assembly has voted 56/15 in favour of Democratic lawmaker’s Vincent Mazzeo, Ralph Caputo, Paul Moriarty and John Burzichelli’s daily fantasy sports (DFS) bill A-3532 allowing the legalisation, regulation and development of a licensing framework under the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety’s Consumer Affairs Division.
Our readers will recall the advancement of the bill following an unanimous vote from the Assembly Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committeeback in February (see previous report).
The measure proposes the enactment of a 10.5 percent fee on gross revenues, payable by licensed operators on a quarterly basis.
Following the State Assembly’s favorable vote, the bill now progresses to the State Senate.
