Spain’s Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) is inviting public comment on a draft resolution that will amend various resolutions specifically pertaining to the identity verification processes carried out by online gambling operators.
The draft resolution modifies the existing identity verification process which the DGOJ believes need to take place sooner in the transaction in order to strengthen age limitation adherence and prevent the fraudulent use of third party identities. Online operators will have to implement the additional requirements and conditions which will require combining user records and gambling accounts.
The provisions have already been reviewed by the Office for Legal Counsel to the State Secretariat for Finance under the aegis of the Ministry for Finance and Public Administrations and received authorisation.
The draft proposal can be read here
The deadline for comments, directed to the DGOJ, ends on December 1, 2017.
