The Delaware State Lottery, which oversees online gambling in the state, has posted disappointing full year results for 2017, reporting that the market declined 18 percent year-on-year, delivering revenues of just under $2.4 million.
By contrast, New Jersey online gambling revenues in 2017 reached $245 million and maintained a monthly revenue level above $20 million for much of the year.
In 2016 the Delaware market showed double digit gains.
In Delaware last year slots delivered most of the online revenue at $1.57 million – 10 percent lower than the preceding year. Table games followed suit, earning slightly less than $559,000 – down 28 percent year-on-year. Poker delivered $231,000 in revenue – down 38 percent y-o-y to complete a dismal picture despite almost five years of legalisation.
