One of the market leaders in the US daily fantasy sports market, DraftKings, has launched what it claims is the biggest DFS contest yet, with $15 million in prize money and a guaranteed $5 million for the ultimate winner.
The contest runs over the first 14 weeks of the current NFL football season and is supported by a slew of low buy-in satellite qualifiers and weekly qualifiers requiring player investments ranging from $3 to $1,000.
The top 200 qualifiers will earn a seat into the week 15 semi-finals, which will be held and televised in Las Vegas, along with a prize package worth $80,000 which includes a Fantasy Football World Championship ticket and a four-night VIP stay at the Wynn Resort.
These 200 players will receive a guaranteed minimum pay-out of $20,000 apiece but will be whittled down to 10 survivors who will go forward to a Grand Final and an opportunity to win six-figure prize money, with pay-outs for the top 10 contestants ranging from $100,000 to $5 million.
