One of the first submissions to a Massachusetts state commission tasked with studying the implications of legalised and regulated daily fantasy sports (and indeed online gambling generally – see previous reports) was from joint market leader DraftKings at a meeting Tuesday.
The company was represented by former Massachusetts AG but now privately practising lawyer Martha Coakley, who said that her client regarded the proposed Massachusetts DFS regulations as “the strongest, most comprehensive consumer protections in the country” which the company fully supports.
“DraftKings strongly supports maintaining these high standards and protections in any further action from the [state] Legislature,” Coakley said Tuesday. “And we intend to be a proactive, engaged partner with you towards achieving that goal.”
