Johor Police have taken drastic action on illegal online gambling in Johor Bahru, Malaysia with 388 raids in ten days, which began June 1, 2017.
Authorities said 2,348 individuals had been detained, of which 1,935 were customers aged between 17 and 64, and 413 were employees or operators of the premises.
Police seized 4,032 laptops, 2,835 computers, 316 tablets and around RM164,000 in cash.
“As of now, there has been a drastic decline in online gambling activity due to the aggressive operations by police,” chief of the Johor criminal investigation division, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat, said.
