Dutch illegal online gambling up 20 percent

Market research firm, Motivaction, has released results from a survey on illegal gambling commissioned by Holland Casino.

According to the responses of 15,000 adults, illegal gambling has increased 20 percent in the past two years equating to  1.8 million online gamblers creating turnover of an estimated Euro 600 million which would have generated upwards of Euro 175 million in tax revenue.

The Dutch Senate will discuss draft legislation, which has been left languishing for two years, on February 5, 2019, however, any progress on the Act, still means that the first licenses would optimistically only be issues during 2020.
