Reports from the Netherlands indicate that the Dutch Lower House this week voted to privatise the state-owned land casino monopoly Holland Casino, splitting the fourteen venues and selling some in order to raise Euro 1 billion for government coffers.
The bill, which will now go to the Dutch Senate for approval, calls for the fourteen Holland operations to be split up, with ten as yet unnamed branches remaining in the Holland group, and four to be offered separately for sale.
In addition, two new land casino licenses are to be created and offered to suitable applicants.
The measure provides for a review of the situation in five years’ time.
