Unikrn, the Seattle-based eSports operator, has announced the acquisition of German matchmaking and tournament service ChallengeMe GG for an undisclosed consideration.
Unikrn management says that the new acquisition will continue its operations as a matchmaking platform which enables both casual and skill-based competitive gaming across tournaments, ladders, leagues and direct challenges with friends.
However, there are plans to integrate the service into the Unikrn platform, extending facilities at the eSports operator. This could start next month, with other skill-based, blockchain-powered challenges coming in the near future.
The platform will also be powered by UnikoinGold, and will integrate with the Unikrn Wallet.
“Joining forces with Unikrn was the ideal match for us,” said Simon Seefeldt, ChallengeMe’s chief executive in a company statement this week. “Instead of doing our own ICO, we can take advantage of the best gaming crypto has to offer: Unikrn’s ecosystem and technology.
“Combining the brand-power of Unikrn and UnikoinGold with our tournament and matchmaking platform will provide eSports enthusiasts from casual to pro a place to enjoy, compete and be rewarded.”
