Three twenty-something software programmers from Bulgaria, Russia and the Ukraine have been arrested in Cyprus for running an illegal online gambling operation.
The police have not released details of the websites involved.
The Cyprus Mail reports that the trio operated servers from an apartment in Paphos, and were arrested on Thursday evening after police officers, acting on a tip-off, raided their flat.
Servers and several computers were seized for inspection.
The men were taken to court on Friday and remanded in police custody for six days whilst investigations are completed. Police spokesmen have since reported that further arrests will be announced shortly.
