El Gordo good for this African refugee

Life has suddenly improved for a Senagalese refugee identified only as Ngame and his wife, who settled in Spain eight years ago after being rescued from a sinking boat whilst trying to reach Spain from Africa.

The presently unemployed farm worker was one of the residents of Roquetas de Mar who bought an El Gordo lottery ticket which this week paid him Euro 400,000.

Ngame told the regional daily newspaper La Voz de Almeria:

“I just can’t believe this, I can tell you that on some days we do not have five euros between the two of us.”
