The joint eSports venture by Mr Green online casino owner MRG and Gamingzone Entertainment will be helmed by Niklas Grawé as CEO, the company announced Wednesday.
Grawé is currently chief commercial officer at Tre Group and chief executive of telecom operator Hallon; he will head the establishment of a new community for eSports fans with a focus on entertainment, news and gaming possibilities.
In the Nordics alone, there are 650,000 daily followers spending in average 100 minutes a day viewing eSports, the JV advised in a press release.
“Our ambition is to create a community where all eSports fans love to spend time,” said Grawé.
Per Norman, chief executive at MRG, said that Grawé is the right man to head the eSports enterprise, combining as he does strong leadership skills with innovative entrepreneurial thinking and digital competence.
Grawé will take on the new position latest at year-end.
MRG and Gamingzone Entertainment own 55 and 45 percent respectively of the joint venture, which was unveiled in May thjis year (see previous report).
