Whilst the Swedish online gambling technology and games provider NetEnt has yet to publically clarify its stance on Canadian operators using its products, the company continues to privately urge operators not to offer its games in the Canadian market.
Reports from affiliates this week indicate that NetEnt has privately asked operators to IP block both Canadian and Portuguese players from its games, effective immediately.
The request has not been accompanied by an explanation, as far as is known, but is presumably related to NetEnt’s stated ambition to do more regulated business in North America.
The departure from Canada must have a commercial impact for both NetEnt and its licensees, but Canucks still have access to games from suppliers like 1X2gaming, 2By2 Gaming, Aristocrat, ELK, Ezugi , Leander Games and Quickspin, according to one affiliate manager.
Canadian players are also reporting that they have been blocked from accessing NYX Gaming products.
