Following a confirmatory accolade from the respected independent online gambling analyst Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, social casino games developer Rocket Games can perhaps be excused for blowing its own trumpet this week in a presser.
The company reported $9.4 million in Q4 2015 revenue to claim a 500 percent year-on-year and 120 percent quarter-on-quarter growth trajectory in revenue clearly analogous with its title, prompting Eilers & Krejcik Gaming in their quarterly Social Casino Tracker to rank Rocket as one of the breakout social casino developers of 2015, ranking them in the top 15 by revenue globally.
Rocket says that the key to its success has been growing the classic 3-reel mechanical slots genre (3RM), which the company entered in mid-2015 with hit titles like Viva Slots Vegas and Triple Double Slots.
The company claims that the 3RM genre is rapidly becoming an increasingly larger segment of the overall $3.3 billion social casino market, representing a $500 million opportunity in North America alone.
Eilers & Krejcik agree; Adam Krejcik said: “The 3RM category continues to show impressive growth led by Rocket Games, who has quickly become the biggest player in this category. 3RM appears to have considerable revenue upside and early movers such as Rocket Games are well positioned.”
Rocket’s chief operating officer, Niko Vuori, says his company is in a strong position in a multi-billion dollar market with an annual growth rate of around 20 percent.
