The former CEO of Sportech, Ian Penrose has been tipped by UK business media reports as the next non-executive chairman of the board at Playtech plc.
The Times reported that Penrose is viewed as a suitable long-term replacement for the current chairman, Alan Jackson after the latter received just over 35 percent shareholder opposition to his re-election at the agm earlier this year. Jackson has held the chair for the past five years.
The reports have not been confirmed by Playtech, which declined comment when approached. The Times speculates this week that the appointment of Penrose could be made public as early as Thursday when Playtech releases its H1-2018 performance statistics.
Analysts are expecting the company to forecast FY 2018 core earnings likely 21 percent lower than expected; Our readers will recall that the company issued a profit warning in July following business challenges in the ASsia-Pacific region.
