Former William Hill plc marketing manager Kristof Fahy has been appointed chief marketing officer responsible for both retail and digital activity at UK land and online gambling group Ladbrokes plc, the company announced Wednesday.
Immediately prior to his Ladbrokes appointment Fahy was CMO responsible for digital channels at Telegraph Media Group, having joined that company after five years at William Hill.
Fahy’s new appointment will see him joining the Ladbrokes executive management team reporting directly to CEO Jim Mullen.
He will head a complex task, especially with the merger with Gala Coral in progress, where he will be CMO for the combined group.
Announcing Fahy’s appointment, Mullen said:
“When I set out the Ladbrokes organic plan for building long term recreational scale and made the necessary budget commitment to boost our marketing presence, I was always conscious that I would need an experienced and creative marketing professional to lead the programme.
“In Kristof, I have recruited the right leader who can help us maximise our spend and grow the long term loyal customer base that will build a better Ladbrokes and deliver our long term targets and ambitions.”
Fahy said that Ladbrokes had structured an ambitious growth plan with marketing at its heart, and added: “While the challenges in these plans are clear and the market place incredibly competitive, the opportunities are exciting and deliverable and it’s a great time to be joining Jim and the Ladbrokes team.”
