Almost a year ago, the RealTime Gaming-powered online casino Freespin.com closed its virtual doors after informing players: “It is with great regret and a heavy heart that we announce that FreeSpin.com casino will be closing on June 30, 2010.
“If you currently have a balance with the casino, please either play out your balance or withdraw your balance before our closing date. Please note, if you have received a bonus, the wagering requirements are still in place for all bonuses as well as redeemed and comp points.
“All funds remaining in casino accounts after June 30, 2010 will be retained by the casino. We hope that you have enjoyed your time with us as much as we have enjoyed having you.”
No reason was given for the apparently orderly departure from the industry of the owners at that time, who were not disclosed, probably because the operation accepted US action.
However, this year the Netherlands Antilles-licensed operation reappeared, largely unchanged and without disclosing its ownership, still using RTG software… and still accepting US action.
Speculation is that the failed online casino was re-sold to another operator by RTG, although there has been no confirmation on this and email enquiries have been unsuccessful.
