The French fantasy sports company Mon Petit Gazon (MPG) has confirmed that it has signed a partnership deal with the French Ligue 1 football league which enables football fans to use MPG online facilities to compete against others in constructing fantasy teams this season.
Prizes in the form of tickets to Ligue matches, footballs and sport shirts will be available to winners, says MPG co-founder Martin Jaglin.
“After years of trial and error, fantasy has finally taken off in France,” Jaglin said this week. “Nearly half a million football fans of all ages challenge their friends or colleagues throughout the year, hoping that their players will play well every weekend.”
Jaglin added that the Ligue 1 deal was an important element in his strategy to create more bridges between fantasy sports and the football field.
