French regulatory body ARJEL released its 2010 – 2011 Annual Review of the French market, this week.
Global Summary as at June 26, 2011 showed:
– All activities, Euro 1 023 million were deposited on player accounts since the opening of the market, with Euro 509 million placed in the first half of 2011.
– Sportsbetting – showing a decline over the period to Euro 741 million of cumulative bets since the opening of the market, with bets of Euro 293 million in the first half of 2011.
57 percent (Euro 423 million) of total bets were made on football and 25 percent (Euro 187 million) on tennis.
Livebetting represented 50 percent of stakes.
– Other games: Euro 7 480 million, with Euro 3 774 million in the first half of 2011.
– Horserace betting was on the rise over the period, cumulatively amounting to Euro 955 million with Euro 496 million made in the first half of 2011.
