A report compiled by Senator François Trucy of the French Advisory Committee on Gaming (CCJ) was approved by the Senate Finance Committee this week.
The report addresses issues related to the current legislation that many view as overly stringent and restrictive and is the final analysis on the more than one-year-old liberalisation of the French online gambling sector as the Government moves towards the ‘clause revoyure’ process deadline at the end of 2011.
The report recommends an online gambling tax based on gross gaming revenue as opposed to the current tax on turnover system and the sharing of poker liquidity with players from other regulated countries.
The publication of the report is expected within the next few weeks.
