Football digital content platform Squawka will be entering the sports betting sector with the launch of a new FSB Technology built and powered sports betting service to sit alongside its fantasy sports offer.

According to Squawka the company will leverage almost 2 billion content views from six million football fans each month to build its business further.

FSB Technology will “trade football and other sports”, both pre-match and in-play, for the operator from a front-end designed by Squawka.

FSB’s Business Development Director, Richard Thorp, said the service, which will go live later this year, follows an increasing trend among media companies seeking to complement their existing product with sports betting.

“Squawka will be able to deliver on their strategy around the live sports event experience safe in the knowledge that they have a flexible platform at their disposal, as well the most modern CRM tools,” he said.

“Our vision is to provide football fans with an exciting and engaging platform which will challenge their football knowledge and opinion through games, quizzes and betting markets,” Guy Rogers, chief operating officer of Squawka added. “We have already launched a £1m free to play game called MatchBoss and have several other products in the pipeline.”
