Further developments in the Federal case against a Wilkes-Barre Sports Bar owner, Patrick Patte Jr. who pleaded guilty last month to aiding and abetting the wire transmission of illegal gambling information have now come back to bite him a second time with the possible revocation of his pub license.
Under Patte’s plea agreement, he will pay $ 100,000 to prevent the building that houses both his residence and business being seized by the Federal Government due to its role in the gambling case. He will be sentenced early next year.
The latest development in the case has seen charges filed by the State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement which could lead to additional fines, and/or license suspension or revocation based on Patte’s guilty plea. The Bureau has also stated that it will oppose the renewal of the bar’s license.
