In related news, the Commission has also released its publication schedule i.r.o. proposed changes to Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP).
The consultations include suggested amendments to licence conditions and codes of practice for both remote and non-remote operators.
Following the consultation the Gambling Commission will publish the changes to LCCP in phases although these changes will all come into force at the same time (currently planned for end July 2014):
* LCCP changes Part 1: this will include the majority of the LCCP changes applying to non-remote operators and to both non-remote and remote operators, such as those relating to complaints and disputes and information requirements. This will be published week commencing 31 March.
* LCCP changes Part 2: protection of customer funds. The revised provisions on this topic will apply to both remote and non-remote operators. This will be published towards the end of April.
* LCCP changes Part 3: this will contain the remaining changes and will be relevant mainly for remote operators, such as those on display of licensed status, poker and other networks, and payment processors. At this stage a consolidated version of LCCP will be published. This will be published towards the end of April.
As previously announced the proposed LCCP requirement for Gambling Commission licensed operators to only obtain gambling software from holders of a Gambling Commission gambling software licence will come into force on 1 January 2015.
